Amy graduated from Plymouth University in 2002 after completing a three year BA HONS degree studying Fashion and Textile Design. Just before graduating she was selected to show her final collection on the catwalk at London Fashion Graduate Week.

In 2003 Amy began working in the bridal industry where she developed many new skills and soon realised that this was an area in which she wanted to specialise, allowing her to use her talent in design and creativity to it's full potential.

In 2004 she moved abroad where she continued to experiment with design and construction techniques.

Moving Back to the UK in 2007 enabled Amy to open her studio and turn a part time passion into Amy McDonald Designs.
